Day 1
City tour in Addis Abeba

Arrive at bole international airport. You will be welcomed by the representatives and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have a city tour in Addis Abeba. The city tour includes Entoto Mountain, to see the city on the top. Entoto was the first capital city of Ethiopia during the time of Emperor Minilik, The national museum, home of Lucy and other hominid skeleton dating back 3.2 million years, Merkato, the biggest open-air market place in Africa, and other most important places of the city based on your time and interest. (Overnight in Hotel)

Day 2
Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar

Early in the morning, depart north to Bahir Dar via Debre Markos. On the way you will visit the Portuguese bridge, said to have been the first bridge in Ethiopia. Afterward, you will pass through the spectacular Blue Nile Gorge. The gorge extends nearly 400km and reaches depths up to 1500m. Overnight in Bahir Dar (hotel)

Day 3
Bahir Dar

In the morning you will take a boat trip on Lake Tana which is the largest lake in Ethiopia to visit the island’s monasteries, such as Ura kidanemihiret and Azwa Mariam. And in the afternoon you drive to the Blue Nile Falls for a short hike in the area. You will finish the day with the spectacular sunset view over the lake. (Overnight in the hotel)

Day 4
Bahir Dar to Gondar

After breakfast, continue north to Gondar. The four-hour drive will take you through rural villages, offering wonderful insight into the Amhara culture. After briefly settling in your hotel, explore the sites of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Enclosure, with six castles and several other buildings. Additionally, visit Fasilidas’s Pool, still used for Timket celebrations today, and the Debre Birhan Selassie church, with the most famous ceiling in Ethiopia. Overnight in Gondar (hotel)

Day 5
Gondar to Semein Mountain

Today early in the morning you will drive to Semein Mountain via Debark city. The Semein Mountain is said to be the roof of Africa and has got a national park with a beautiful landscape where the Walia Ibex, Semein red wolf and Gelada baboon all endemic to Ethiopia are found. This day you will have a chance to see around the national park. (Overnight camping in Sanka ber)

Day 6
Sanka ber

You will start your trek around Buyit Ras for a 3-4 hour hike to Sankaber, which passes close to the escarpment edge. Nearing Sankaber, you will have beautiful views on both sides of the escarpment ridge and where you will likely see the endemic Gelada baboon. (Overnight camping in Sanka ber)

Day 7
Sanka ber to Lalibela

Early in the morning embark on a full day of driving to Lalibela. Here you will pass through several small villages, Proceed through this rural area for the stunning approach to the home of Ethiopia’s most prized destination – Lalibela. Overnight in Lalibela (hotel)

Day 8

In the morning, start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches – Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). After lunch, continue with the Southeastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – Saint George. Overnight in Lalibela (hotel)

Day 9
Lalibela to Kombolcha

Early in the morning, drive to Kombolcha via Woldia, on the way to visiting the lake in the town of Hayk, where you can visit the local monastery and enjoy the birdlife. Overnight in Kombolcha (hotel)

Day 10
Kombolcha to Addis Ababa

Return driving to Addis via Debre Birhan. On the way, you pass the Mezezo Escarpment, with a good chance to see the endemic gelada baboons. If today is a Sunday, you can stop in the town of Senbete to visit the lively market including the interesting camel market. Overnights: Addis Ababa (Hotel)

Day 11
Addis Ababa - Arbaminch

Early in the morning after breakfast drive to Arbaminch which means ‘forty springs’. On the way, you will see the Tiya stelae. The site contains 36 monuments, including 32 carved stelae covered with symbols, most of which are difficult to decipher. Overnight in (lodge)

Day 12
Arbaminch – Jinka

In the morning you will take a boat trip to Chamo lake to visit crocodiles, hippos, etc. Drive to Jinka across various ethnics like Tsemay and Bena. Continue driving to Jinka with a stop at Tsemay and Bena village. If it is Thursday; you will visit the spectacular Key Afer market where different Omo valley ethnic groups meet in harmony. Overnight: Jinka(In-resort).

Day 13
Jinka- Mursi – Jinka

Drive from Jinka Excursion to the Mursi people via Mago National Park. These people are curious and famous in that the women wear geometrical lip plates in the slits of their lips and in the afternoon you will visit the Ari tribes whose women are known for selling pottery and wearing skirts made from banana trees called Enset. Tribe members wear a lot of jewelry and have many piercings in their ears. They wrap beads and bracelets around their arms and waist for decoration. Overnight: (In-resort)

Day 14
Jinka - Turmi

Today you will drive to Turmi via different small villages and visit the beautiful and friendly Hamer tribs. The Hamer tribes are well known for their bull jumping and dancing ceremony. (Overnight: In Lodge)

Day 15
Turmi –Omorte-Turmi

Drive to Omorate for a visit of Dasench people with a wooden boat crossing the Omo River and if it is a market day, you will visit the Turmi market. Late in the afternoon drive back to Turmi.( Overnight in Lodge)

Day 16
Turmi – Arbaminch

Today you will drive to Arba Minch via Konso for visit of UNESCO world heritage site of Konso (well known for their terracing system for more than 800 years). Overnight: (In lodge)

Day 17
Arbaminch- Hawassa

Early in the morning you will visit the dorze people who are well known cotton weavers, the Dorze tribe were once warriors. They are famous for their cotton woven cloths and beehive huts. They cultivate their own food and prevent erosion by terracing along the mountainside. In their farmlands, the Dorze will grow highland cereals. They also grow spices, vegetables; fruits and tobacco within their compound. The Dorze people wear colorful toga robes called shammas. They are very popular throughout Ethiopia. Dorze hut is made up of hardwood poles, woven bamboo, enset and other natural materials. Then drive to Hawassa. (Overnight (Hotel)

Day 18
Hawassa- Addis Abeba

In the morning you will visit the spectacular lakes and fish market which is found in Hawassa city and take your breakfast there, then drive back to Addis Ababa.
